Dear Diary 2: Emem's Entry

Sigh.

I have this big, goofy grin on my face and I don't know why. Or I know and am hugging it to myself for a little bit longer. It's a very pleasant feeling, this warmth and glow I feel in my lower belle: are these‎ the proverbial butterflies???

Grin. Laughter.

Why am I laughing to and at myself‎ in an empty room? Its a good thing the mum's gone out this Saturday morning. Else, I'd have had to explain why am going loco all by myself. Worst thing is, its been happening at work. Three times this last week, Dorcas has had to jolt me out of my reverie during conversations : once, during a town hall meeting at the office. Still, I'm loving the feeling and no one has yet complained about my work.

Smile. Chuckle.

It's been over 3months. 3 beautiful, blissful months of Femi and me. Talking for hours on end. ‎Going on beautiful dates. Meeting his mother, who can pass for my sister in looks. Now, am no slouch in the beauty department: but jeez, she's 63 and can pass for 30. And she adores me too. Plus they have no issue with the fact that I have a daughter. Jane is the apple of both Femi and his mother's eyes. The gifts she's gotten, infact  am envious of her. I have a trailer load of goodies from Mrs. Adebanjo, who calls me Iyawo mi: yet am envious of Jane's gifts from them. I could buy two cars with the things mini-me Janey's got. Courtesy of Femi and his mother.

Long Sigh. Wide Grin. Chuckles.

Femi. 6feet tall, 93kg Femi. Femi with the big nose and wide toothed grin. Nice, caring and loving Femi. Femi the genius: he's an Engineer with one of the biggest construction outfits this side of the Niger (plus he's their wonderkid). Besides work, his knowledge is vast and varied: he's as much home with theatre as he is with physics or politics. Femi with the great physique: there is no beer belly anywhere around this man. He works out daily and plays basketball twice a week to keep fit. Femi, who is the epitome of 'Tall,Dark and Handsome. Until you see his face. See, the only thing beautiful on Femi's face is his smile. My Femi has one of the ugliest faces I have ever seen. The 1st time I saw him, my jaw dropped with gobsmacking speed to the floor. I mean here was an irony in itself. Breathtaking from behind, then his face? WUGLY.

Until he smiled...... A 300watt bulb can not transform a room like Femi's smile and the transformation that took place. That smile, my new addiction. Say what you want, I'm totally hooked on Femi and there is nothing anyone can do about it. He's ugly, so what? I love my Femi and he loves me too. He's passed all the tests in Steve Harvey's "Act like a lady, Think like a man". Infact, he's getting the cookie this evening.....Let me go and pick out a dress.

End.
